Burnt Lake Outfitters uses over 15,000 lbs of bait, special lures and over 40 baits to keep the bear action going. This type of baiting creates competition at the baits allowing for multiple bears at each site.

B&C and P&Y bears in Alberta are legendary, bears can reach 7 feet nose to tail and 400+ lbs. We have consistent success of 150-200% with an average height of 6 feet on most bears.
Spring bear hunting in Alberta has always produced trophy quality hides. Many bears will have 6 to 8 inches of hair in the spring, and tend not to start rubbing until mid June. For many hunters the color phase bear is the ultimate trophy. Our black bear hunting area has over 40% of its black bear to be off color, from jet black to blondes.

With bow hunting becoming more popular every year, archery black bear hunts are always a priority to any bow hunter. We specialize in paying attention to detail when bow hunting trophy black bear. Most shots are less than 25 yards to ensure good arrow placement and confidence.
All bow hunts are conducted by using tree stands, ladder stands over prime baits. By using portable stands instead of permanent stands allows us to properly set up the bow hunter. Larger bears tend to need more confidence to come to the bait so the set up is very important. Rifle, muzzle loader and cross bow hunter’s experience the same set ups but at 40-60 yard shots.
